• What is a Technology Roadmap ?

A technology roadmap is a flexible planning schedule to support strategic and long-range planning, by matching short-term and long-term goals with specific technology solutions. In simple terms it is a list of representation of your individual goals with the process of how to attain that goal and the steps by which you will take to achieve it.

• In tech Career we have the developers and non-developers roles.

• Before choosing a tech Career path you need to evaluate where you are by answering simple questions like, what do I love the most and the least?, what do people say am good at? What motivates me? And other similar questions to better understand yourself.

• Thirdly, you do not need to have everything figured out. Most people do not want to be seen starting. Do not be like those people. Take the risk and do what you need to do and allow yourself to be a beginner. You just have to keep improving yourself and go for opportunities that align. Also, be prepared for opportunities as they arise. It is also good to know that as you go higher, things will become clearer. LinkedIn is a great place to connect with and follow people on the career path that you have chosen. You get to shadow these people and learn from them.

• Another one is that you need to know and understand your strength and skills, both soft and hard skills. You need to know the skills that come to you ,the ones you improves on or learn.

• In transitioning into tech you need to identify your transferable skill, volunteer, join community and explore your interest.

How I am going to apply this point
